Virginia Alice Jewell of Beloit, formerly of Newton Falls, went home to the Lord on February 13, 2024 surrounded by family. Jenny was born in Pennsboro, West Virginia on May 16, 1939 to the late Ned Shreve and the late Chessie (Edwards) Shreve.

Jenny loved playing sports with her family, reading, and following her beloved Cleveland Indians. She played volleyball and basketball well into her seventies.

Jenny moved to Newton Falls in 1955 after marrying her husband, Harold Jewell. They remained constant companions until his passing in 2018. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Beulah Rice and her infant brother, Ned, Jr.

Jenny is survived by her sons, Staley Jewell of Beloit, Tim Jewell of Beloit and honorary son, Michael Shaulis of Chardon, Ohio. Also survived by her brother, Roger (Brenda) Shreve; her sisters, Joy (Ron) Wood, and Chrystal (Danny) Hayes, all of southern Ohio; the daughter she never had, Dot Confer of Salem; and her best friend, Audie Sypko, also of Salem, are also left with a hole in their hearts. She will also be terribly missed by her dog Princess and cat Bright.

There will be calling hours on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls. Burial will follow in Newton Township Cemetery in Newton Falls.
