Violet J. (Shumaker) Hartman

Violet J. Hartman, 77, of Windham, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Kensington Care Center in Aurora.  On May 27, 1943 in New Bethlehem, PA Violet was born the daughter of David and Lillian (Carrier) Shumaker.

She was a 1961 graduate of Garfield High School.

Williard Hartman and Violet were united in marriage on October 29, 1961 in Drakesburg. 

Violet was a press operator at Sajar Plastics for 29 years.  She also worked at IGA in Garrettsville for 4 years.  Violet owned Vi’s Family Restaurant in Windham.

She was a member of Shepherds Joy Ministry in Windham, Ohio.

Violet enjoyed crocheting, knitting and scroll painting. 

Cherished memories of Violet will be carried on by her husband, son Tom (Liann) Hartman of Garrettsville, daughter Lorraine (David) Friess, sister Dixie English of Streetsboro, grandchildren Brett, Meghan, Mason, and Gavin, and three great-grandchildren Cameron, Blake, and Brooklyn.

Preceding Violet in death were her parents, and brothers Bob and Dave Shumaker

Family and friends may call on Saturday January23, 2021 from 11 AM - 1 PM at Shepard’s Joy where Pastor Harmon will be officiating at 1 PM.
