Travis Daniel Wilcox, 50, of Southington died Saturday, September 25, 2021 in Warren, Ohio after suffering a series of heart attacks.
Travis was born April 21, 1971 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Rose Wilcox and the late Brent Wilcox, both of Southington. He was also the grandson of Frank Kolovich of Newton Falls, Ohio. A graduate of Chalker High School, Travis made his home in Mansfield for several years before returning to Southington where he resided until his death.
He will be remembered as a fun-loving man whose greatest pride was his family by his wife of twenty-five years, Dawn (Metzler) Wilcox.
He will be remembered as a loving father by his daughters, Madysen, Alyvia, and Abygale Wilcox.
He will be remembered as a doting grandfather of Kaylahni Wilcox.
He will be remembered as forever young by his sister, Lynnette (Mark) Burge, and the funniest man they ever knew by his nephews, Andrew and Ryan.
Travis’ family knew him as a loving and proud grandson, son, husband, father, and brother. His friends knew him as the man you could always count on for a laugh, a helping hand, or a supportive shoulder. His school friends knew Travis as the prom king, the quarterback, and the guy who knew everyone and who everyone knew. A natural athlete, he excelled in high school basketball, football, golf, and baseball; Travis had been nominated multiple times as Trumbull County Coaches Player of the Year and was later inducted into the Chalker Athletic Hall of Fame. His professional peers knew him as a sought-after manager and problem solver for both Sam’s Club and Lowes, and later as an individual contractor. Anyone who knew Travis was touched by his sense of humor, his willingness to try anything once, and his ability to pour his soul into any project that he set his mind to doing.
The family would like to thank Dale “Chip” and Darla Habosky and Johnny Habosky for their support, friendship, and brotherhood.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, and a private service will be held preceding burial at Newton Falls Cemetery West Side.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Travis’ name to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County or the local humane society of your choice.
