Teresa Rutherford, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on the 8th of February, 2026, in Newton Falls, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 17, 1962, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and her life was a testament to the strength and love she carried within her heart.

Teresa was a proud graduate of Garrettsville, where she cultivated a love for knowledge and community. Her passion for cooking was well-known among her family and friends, as she often expressed her love through the delicious meals she prepared with care. Her kitchen was not just a place for cooking but a haven where warmth and laughter were always on the menu.

A devoted fan of the Browns football team, Teresa's enthusiasm and spirit were infectious. She shared many joyful moments with her loved ones, cheering on her favorite team, and her presence made every game more exciting. Teresa also found pleasure in the thrill of slot machines, where her playful nature and optimism shone brightly.

Above all, Teresa was dedicated to her family, providing unwavering support and boundless love. She is survived by her daughters, Tara and Tia, and her son Freddie, who will forever cherish her memory. Her brother, Tim; grandchildren, Freddie, Josiah, Faith, Preston, and Payton; as well as her great-grandchild Braxton, will miss her deeply. Her niece, Heidi and great-nephew, Landon, along with many more family members, will hold onto the lessons and love she imparted.

Teresa was preceded in death by her beloved son, Heath Dean; her brother Keith; her sister, Rita; her parents, Dean and Eleanor; and her grandparents, affectionately known as Granny and Pap Pap. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with them once more.

Her life was a beautiful mosaic of moments spent caring for others, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Teresa's unwavering strength, her generous spirit, and her capacity for love defined her, and these qualities will continue to inspire her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, Ohio.
