Robert Joseph Davis (Bob), 92 of Ravenna, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Ahuja medical center in Beachwood. He was born August 25, 1929 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Charles and Jessie (Patterson) Davis. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and went on to work for Chrysler until his retirement.
Bob was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, family, and cats (Yeller and Boots). He enjoyed cheering on the Browns and Ohio State, watching the birds outside of his living room window, and going to flea markets with his wife. He never met a stranger, and striking up a conversation with someone he had never met before came easily to him. Those who were blessed to have known him remember him for his teasing jokes, amusing stories of his youth and his ornery way of letting you know what he thought whether you liked it or not. He was a kind, friendly, and joyful man whom we will all deeply miss.
Bob is survived by his wife Elizabeth; his children Scott Davis of Indiana, Kimberly (John) Napierata of Aurora, Bobbie Marksberry of Kent, Jodi Wilson of Kent; seven grandchildren, David (Mel), Jessica, Hannah, Alex, Sydney, Luke, and Abigail; two great grandchildren, Carter and Adeline; and brothers Chuck Davis of Tallmadge and John Davis of Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother George Davis, sister Dorothy Manarik, his brother Bill Davis, and son-in-law Tony Marksberry.
Family will receive friends on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Ravenna First Church of God. A memorial will immediately follow with Pastor Tod Huston officiating at 5:00.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a monetary donation be made in memory of Bob to the Memorial Fund at Ravenna First Church of God, 237 New Milford Road, Ravenna Ohio.
