Philip Andrew Starr, Jr. Obituary

Philip Andrew "Duke" Starr, Jr., aged 76, son of Philip Andrew  Starr, Sr. and Shirley Rae Starr, born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, in Lordstown, Ohio. Born on October 26, 1948, growing up in Newton Falls, Ohio, Duke was a man of great humor, intelligence, and creativity, and he lived a life filled with joy and love for his family and community. Duke was a devoted husband to Jacquelyn (Reynolds) Starr for 56 years and a loving father to Sonya Kasper, her partner Rob Vanderkamp, and her late husband William Kasper, as well as  Dr. Philip "Duke" Starr and wife, Vivian.  Duke's spirit will live on through his grandchildren, Bill (Kristen Losey) and Dillon Kasper (Jill), Dana, Diana, Summit (Adam Fauth), and Sam Starr. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Gwendolyn and Adam Kasper. As well as Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn (Pete) Price and their family of Newton Falls, Ohio.

A proud graduate of Newton Falls High School, Duke's strong work ethic was evident in his impressive 32-year tenure at General Motors in Lordstown. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his community, where he also made his mark as a licensed massage therapist, helping others find relief and comfort. Duke's love for music was unmistakable, with the tunes of Elvis and the Beatles often providing the soundtrack to his life. He was also passionate about sports, generously giving his time to coach Little League baseball and Pee-wee football. His guidance and mentorship shaped the lives of many young athletes in his town.

Those who knew Duke will remember his quick wit and his ability to light up a room with laughter. His intelligence was a guiding force in his life, and his creative approach to problem-solving left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Duke Starr will be dearly missed, yet his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. His family takes comfort in knowing that his jovial spirit and the lessons he imparted will remain in their hearts forever. As we bid farewell to a man of such character and warmth, we celebrate the life of Philip Andrew "Duke" Starr, Jr., and the indelible mark he left on this world. His story is one of love, laughter, and a life well-lived.
