Okey James Williams, Jr., 91, of Newton Falls passed on Saturday, November 21, 2020 in UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 18, 1929, the son of Okey James, Sr. and Jeannette Klein Williams.
Okey honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He had been employed by Rockwell Bumper, Southeast High School as a janitor and then at Lordstown GM Assembly Plant from where he retired.
On January 10, 1951, Okey and Avis Mae Turner were united in marriage. She preceded him on July 8, 2019.
Okey enjoyed working around their home and in the yard, enjoyed traveling and socializing with neighbors. He collected bird houses and enjoyed scratching lottery tickets.
Loving memories of Okey will be carried on by his sons, Larry (Nancy) of Atwater, Mickey (Linda) of Diamond, Denis (Felicia) of West Virginia and Mark (Karyn) of Texas; his daughter, Kerry Williams of Newton Falls; his twelve grandchildren and his seven great grandchildren.
The family extends a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Country Club Rehabilitation Center in Newton Falls.
