Michael Burton Wheeler Obituary
Micheal Burton Wheeler, known affectionately as Mike to his friends and family, passed away on the 19th of June, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on August 18, 1943, in Dixonville, Pennsylvania, Mike grew into a man of integrity and warmth, whose presence was a source of comfort and strength to all who knew him. His final days were spent surrounded by love in Ravenna, Ohio, where he ultimately succumbed to heart failure.
Mike's life was a testament to the values of dedication and service. After graduating from high school in his hometown of Dixonville, he answered the call of duty by serving his country in the United States Air Force. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life. Upon returning to civilian life, Mike embarked on a career as a devoted truck driver, a role that allowed him to provide for his family while indulging in his love for the open road.
At the heart of Mike's world was his family. He was a beloved husband to his wife, Patricia Robinson Wheeler, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Together, they raised two wonderful children, a daughter, Mari (Jon) Cummings, and a son, Micheal (Liz) Wheeler. Mike took immense pride in his role as a father and later as a grandfather to his nine grandchildren, Ryan (Carissa) Wheeler, Brittani Cummings, Nicole Wanas, Kyle Wanas, Jonathan Cummings, Peyton Cummings, Adela Wheeler, Micheal Wheeler Jr., and Damon Wheeler. His joy was further multiplied with the arrival of his two great-grandchildren, Marlena and Ryan Jr.
A man of faith, Mike was a devoted Christian who lived his beliefs through his actions, offering kindness and support to his community. He found peace in the teachings of the Bible and solace in the fellowship of his church family.
Mike's passions extended beyond his work and family. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished the times when he could immerse himself in nature, whether it was during the quiet predawn hours waiting for a deer or sharing stories with his loved ones around a campfire. Hunting was more than a hobby for Mike; it was a way for him to connect with the earth and to practice patience and respect for the natural world.
Above all, Mike will be remembered for the love he had for his family. His presence at family gatherings, his laughter echoing through the halls, and his unwavering support in every endeavor undertaken by his children and grandchildren, are memories that will be held dear. Mike's legacy is one of love, perseverance, and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.
As we bid farewell to Micheal Burton Wheeler, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by love, honor, and the quiet dignity of a man who always put his family first. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
