Michael Richards, a cherished husband, step-father, step-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, at the age of 71, on July 25, 2024, in his hometown of Ravenna, Ohio. Born on July 25, 1953, in the same close-knit community, Mike was well-known for being a hard worker and a loyal friend.

Mike was an exceptional artist when he was young and received awards for his talents while he was in school. This creativity helped him have a long, successful career in the skilled trades where he was known for perfection and quality of work.

Mike's life was enriched by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Richards, whose voice was the music of his life. Their union was a beautiful example of partnership and mutual adoration. He is also survived by his stepson, Scott Kernen (Sandy Kernen), and two step-grandsons Tyler Kernen (Elise Kernen) and Dale Kernen (Sonya Baker) who will miss him dearly.

Mike's pleasures were simple, spending time with his wife, Barbara and his dog, Finley. The best time of his life was going to car shows with Barbara and the dog. He also enjoyed the quiet time in his garage where he spent many hours tinkering around working on many projects. There wasn't a thing he couldn't fix.

Michael had a great appreciation for the staff at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Ravenna. He recognized the hard work and effort in taking care of his wife, Barbara and the other patients in the dementia unit.

He spoke often of his special friendships with his buddies, Dennis and Jim. The doggy play dates that Mike and Finley had with Dennis and his dogs were special times for Mike. The Christian guidance that Jim provided for Mike was the spiritual strength that he needed to continue on in life. These two individuals were always there for Mike when he needed them.

As we bid farewell to Mike, we do so with a sense of gratitude for the time we were given with him.
