Melvin Charles “Toddy” Wilson, 79, of Newton Falls, formerly Wilsonburg, WV, departed this life and went to his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 26, 2021 with his family at home. He was born December 29, 1941 in Wilsonburg the son of the late Stanley A. and Mary Gerrard Wilson.
He retired from Cuyahoga Steel and Wire and as a part time Police Officer for the Garrettsville Police Department.
Toddy enjoyed camping, riding his golf cart, spending time with his dog Gabbi and family, and attending church at the General Assembly Church of God in Newton Falls. The love for the Lord was evident throughout his life.
Survivors include his only daughter Lisa Wilson Monroe (James) of Newton Falls, a brother Hurley “Tink” Wilson of Erin, TN, two sisters Joan Fogg of PA, and Sharon Emerson of Lost Creek, grandchildren Alecia Denison, Kyle (Misty) Brigham, Kaylee (James) Sherosky, Austin Monroe, and Lauren Monroe, and one great grandchild Evelyn “Ev” Monroe.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Sue Haddix Wilson whom he married on August 6, 1966 and passed away on June 14, 2018, eight brothers Stanley Jr., Billy, Mack, Richard, Eddie, Ronnie, Micky Jr. his twin Marvin “Clem”, and two sisters Geneva Collier and Evelyn Gallo.
There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Toddy’s life will be held at a later time.
