Mary Ann Radu Obituary

Mary Ann E. Rager Radu, 82, of Braceville, Ohio passed on a sunny afternoon on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.  She was born on January 23, 1940 in Steubenville, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Hozdik Hagye.  She was a graduate of Wintersville High School.

Mary Ann married the love of her life, Robert G. Rager on July 22, 1961.  They were married for thirty-three years until his passing in 1994.  She later was married for three years to Eli Radu.

She retired from Trumbull Memorial Hospital where she had been employed as a Central Supply Technician in charge of the Linen Room.  Mary Ann had previously owned Cupid’s Touch Florals in Girard, Ohio.

She attended St. James Catholic Church in Warren for many years.  Mary Ann enjoyed floral arranging, crafts, drawing, Yahtzee, Bingo, cruising in her Mustang convertible and most of all, her movie collection of over 3,000 DVD’s.

Mary Ann will be remembered most for her contagious smile, spunkiness, her selflessness and her strength and ability to overcome any obstacle in her way.   She was a true fighter with the largest of hearts.  She loved children and animals so very much.

Loving memories of Mary Ann will be carried on by her daughter, Diana Rowland (Ed “PaPa Bear” McCarley) of Braceville, Ohio; her sons, Joseph Rager and Michael Rager, both of Warren, Ohio; her granddaughters, Marissa Rowland (Cody Peterson) of Youngstown, Ohio and Michaela Rowland of Kent, Ohio; her sisters, Linda Hagye of Hudson, Colorado and Jeanette (Geza) Nyars of Burbank, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mary Ann were her parents; her brother, John Hagye; her husbands, Robert and Eli and several of her friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, Ohio.  A service will follow with Pastor Douglas DeMar officiating.

Mary Ann will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio.
