NEWTON FALLS – Mary A. Sabo, 93, passed on Friday, August 19, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren, Ohio.
She was born on March 7, 1929, in Starford, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Maria (Amendolia) Aloi.
Mary was an active member at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Newton Falls, a long- time member and a past president of the Ladies Guild.
On September 12, 1953, she married Steve W. Sabo. Together they raised four children. Mary was a busy homemaker who enjoyed cooking Italian food, baking, crocheting, crafting, and playing pinochle. She also worked at the Village Cleaners for many years. After Steve’s retirement, they enjoyed wintering in Bradenton, Florida.
She is survived by her daughter, Julia (Michael) Cramer, of Pearland, Texas, her son, Daniel Sabo, of Newton Falls, her son, Mark (Melody) Sabo, of Bowerston, Ohio and her daughter in-law, Sharon Sabo, of Portland, Oregon. Survivors also include seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Steve; her twin sons, John and James who died at birth; her son, Steven; her brothers, Nunziato, Frank, Anthony, John; and her sister, Carmella.
Mary’s family would like to extend their appreciation to all the kind staff and residents at Allan-Dell Assisted Living, and also for the compassionate and spiritual care she received at St. Joseph Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish with Rev. David Merzweiler as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
