Marie “Mary Jo” J. Stiffler, 78, of Newton Falls, OH passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Mercy Health St. Joseph. She was the born the daughter of Michael and Agnes (Kozuba) Minnick on July 16, 1943 in Warren.
After receiving her formal education she obtained a Associate Degree from Kent State University.
On February 1, 1964 at St. Ambrose Church in Garrettsville, OH Larry and Mary Jo Stiffler were united in marriage.
She was a parishioner at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church.
Mary Jo was a preschool teacher who worked at the Pilgrim School and she retired from Forum Health Trumbull Memorial.
She was a member of TOPS, the Birthday Club and on the school reunion committee. She enjoyed reading, traveling, singing and was an Elvis fan. Mary Jo was the author of “Trumpet”.
Cherished memories of Mary Jo will be carried on by her husband Larry, sons Terry (Karla) of Henderson, NV, and Cletis (Billie) of Columbus, OH, daughters Michele (fiancé Kevin) Adair of Akron, OH and Josanne (Mark) Bodo of Mineral Ridge, OH, grandchildren Derek (Sarah), Anna, Ethan, Lara Bodo, Jennifer Adair, and Mekala and Mekenzie Stiffler, and great grandchild Jace Bodo.
Preceding Mary Jo in death were her parents, and her brother Jerome Minnick.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, January 30, from 3 – 6 PM at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls and from 10 – 10:45 AM on Monday January 31. Services will be held at 11 AM at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church with Rev. David Merzweiler officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Brook Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary and St. Joseph Church and United Methodist Church both of Newton Falls.
