Margaret Kistler, 100, of Newton Falls OH passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, November 15th 2020 at Antonine Village, North Jackson Township. She had resided there for more than two years.
She was the wife of Thomas D. Kistler and daughter of Stephen J. and Mary N. Brown, all of whom preceded her in death, mother of Kristen K. Olson (A. Andrew) and Kimball T. Kistler, grandmother to six and great-grandmother to three children.
Born in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania on January 26th 1920, she resided in Newton Falls for ninety years in a home she and Tom built in the early 1950s next to her parents’ residence – where she grew up and to which she moved shortly after Tom’s death in 1994
For more than thirty years she taught English at Newton Falls High School, from which she and Tom graduated in 1938, teaching brother Bill and her children among countless others. An accomplished musician, she led the Congregational Church choir where she was a member for many years, having graduated from Oberlin College’s Conservatory of Music in 1943 and subsequently completed, at Kent State University, a Master’s degree in Education (1968).
