Kenneth “Kenny” Seem, 88, of Diamond, Ohio passed on Friday, July 29, 2022 at his residence. He was born on November 8, 1933, the son of Lloyd W. and Lena Marie Williams Seem.
He was a quiet laid-back man until you got to know him. Kenny had a great sense of humor. He was a hard worker and always worked to support his family. Kenny dropped out of high school in his junior year to work to help his father support his siblings. He drove truck for Hansen Drugs for a while, delivering non-prescription medical supplies. He began his employment with General Fireproofing in Youngstown in 1967. When the business shut down twenty-three years later, he did a few other jobs to keep money coming in until he was hired by Palmyra Township. His duties with the township included caring for roads and cemeteries until his retirement. He also was a trustee for DEFC.
He was involved with the Lake Milton Baptist Temple helping sometimes as an usher for offering collections.
On July 25, 1964, Kenny and Geraldine “Gerry” Brumbaugh were united in marriage. The couple enjoyed over fifty-four years of marriage until her passing on November 4, 2017.
Preceding Kenny were his wife, Geraldine; his nine year old son, Gary Lynn “Butchie” Seem who drowned in Lake Milton in 1965; his parents, Lloyd and Lena Seem; his sisters, Eleanor and Thelma and his brothers, Lloyd Jr. and Gordon.
Loving memories of Kenny will be carried on by his children, Linda Seem Chatman and LeRoy Seem; his grandchildren, Michael Chatman II, Bryan Raines, Dominique Seem, Elizabeth Seem, Robert Silverwood, and Sarah Silverwood; and his brother, Merle (Wendy) Seem.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Deerfield Friends Church, 1261 State Route 14, Deerfield, Ohio 44411. Visitation will also be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church, with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Ken Hagin officiating.
Interment will follow at the West Palmyra Cemetery.
