Kenneth Eugene “Butch” Winland, 67, of Newton Falls, Ohio, passed away on April 1, 2026. He was born on February 16, 1959, in Warren, Ohio. Butch was the son of William K. Winland and Janice M. Brumbaugh Winland.

Butch attended Newton Falls High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1977.

He was a self-employed contractor for most of his life. Handy in every sense of the word, Butch took great pride in using his skills to help others—whether working with his hands or offering advice. There was truly nothing he couldn’t do.

Butch loved fishing, working on cars, and building model cars. He also enjoyed listening to classic rock, and you could often find him singing along to his favorite songs.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jason Winland (Carol) of North Carolina; his daughter, Jennifer Winland (Justin) of New York; his mother, Janice Wamer of Newton Falls; his sisters, Debbie Kufeldt of Newton Falls and Diane Lenhart of Warren; and his four grandchildren, Colton and Arianna of New York, and Lorraye and Layden of North Carolina. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William K. Winland; and his sister, Betty A. Winland.

There will be no calling hours. Butch will be laid to rest in Hawley Cemetery in Paris Township, Ohio.
