Josephine Marie (Kompanik) Roach

Josephine Marie Roach, known to her friends and family as Joan, 95, passed on Sunday, August 30, 2020 in Dallas Texas. A former residence of Newton Falls, Joan was born on July 1, 1925 in McDonald, Ohio, the daughter of John and Caroline Machac Kompanik.

Joan married John H. Roach on April 19, 1946, whom she meet in Washington D.C. while working for Western Union and he was a Marine in the Military Police. They moved to Newton Falls Township where they raised their two children, son, John and daughter, Debra.  Joan loved her family dearly; always putting them first. Joan enjoyed gardening, spending many hours tending to her flowers and yard, quilting, crocheting and crafting.

Joan worked at United Telephone Company for 20 years as a telephone operator.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Debra Simon, Dallas, TX and her grandchildren, Jonathan and Jenny also of Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John and her son, Marine Pfc, John Roach, killed in action in Vietnam in 1968.

Interment will be in Newton Township Cemetery in Newton Falls next to her beloved husband and son.
