Joseph Vincent McLay, 86, of Diamond, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at his residence. He was born on September 24, 1932 in Pittsburgh, the son of Joseph and Mary McLay.
He was a member of the Canfield Presbyterian Church.
Joseph was employed as a carpenter for over 50 years at Local 171, retiring from his duties in 2004.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife Cathy, working on antique wooden boats and cooking gourmet cuisine.
Memories will be carried on by his son Mitch (Karen) McLay of Diamond, daughter Kristine (Donald Marvin) McLay of Colorado, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchilden.
Preceding him in death were his wife Cathy (Hamlin) McLay, son Joseph McLay, and daughter Missy Hamon, brother Dick McLay, and a sister Mary Boyer.
Family and friends may call on Monday, April 1, from 11 AM - noon at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls where services will be held at noon, with a luncheon to follow at the Grandview Tavern in Lake Milton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palmyra Fire Department.
