John Panovich Obituary
John “Jack” Panovich, 84, of Craig Beach, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026. Born on August 14, 1941, in Bedford, Ohio, Jack was a hardworking man who cared deeply for his family and lived life on his own terms. He was a man of Catholic faith who carried his beliefs with him throughout his life.
Jack was the loving husband of Linda Panovich, and in 47 years of marriage, she was his constant. He was a father to Jeffery Panovich, Jeannine Panovich, Nicole McCafferty and Spencer Leonhardt (Stacie), and a grandfather to Kylie Jett (Michael), Ashley Kochur (Bricen), Aaron Leonhardt and Jayden Panovich, and a great-grandfather to Caroline, Scarlett, Isla and Leona. Watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow was, without question, the highlight of his life.
Upon graduating high school, Jack proudly enlisted in the United States Navy. He was most at home outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with the people he loved. His annual fishing trips to Canada were a tradition he held dear. He also had a gift for music, playing guitar and banjo, and was known for his humor and his ability to have a genuinely good time wherever he went.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren and his brother, Bernie Panovich (Bonnie). He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joan Yaros and Carol Morris.
The memories he leaves behind are as big as the life he lived. He loved his people fiercely, and they will carry him with them always.
