Joanne Marie (Shaffer) Ellenberger

Joanne Marie Ellenberger, 80, had lived in Hiram, and on March 6, 2019 she slipped out into the mist of a cold, frosty night to be reunited with her savior and her husband.

Joanne was born on July 10, 1938 in Auburn, Ohio, the daughter of Russell Frederick and Ruby Charlotte (Sargent) Shaffer.

She was a member of the Troy Baptist Church.

Joanne and Kenneth Ronald Ellenberger were united in marriage October 6, 1956 at the Troy Baptist Church.

Joanne enjoyed sewing, listening to music and playing the piano and organ at church. 

Cherished memories of Joanne will be carried on by her sons Kenneth R. Ellenberger of Hiram, Kirk W. (Brenda) Ellenberger of Windham, daughters Denise (David) Trebing of Hiram, Renee (Russell) Clark of Garrettsville, brother Russell (Peggy) Shaffer of Leavittsburgh, sisters Delores Canterbury of Middlefield, Linda (Gene) Watson of Florida, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Preceding Joanne in death were her husband Kenneth, and brothers Douglas and Dennis Shaffer.

Family and friends may call on Friday, March 8 from 3 – 4 PM at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls where services will follow at 4PM with her son in law Pastor Russ Clark officiating.
