James “Big Pops” F. Winland Sr., 80 years old of Braceville, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at his home.

James was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, the son of John Thomas Winland and Virginia Luicrettia Winland. 

He was retired from Wilton Tool.  James was married to his wife, Geraldine “Sue” for 53 years.  He was a dependable family man who liked to joke around and make others laugh.  He enjoyed going to casinos, and loved his dogs.

He is survived by his children, James Jr. (Tina) of Howland, Gary (Crystal) of Niles, Renea (Jack) of Newton Falls, Curtis (Shannon) of Braceville, Jesse (Samara) of Liberty, his 13 grandchildren, his 11 great grandchildren, and his siblings, Jack, Janet, George, and Judy.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Sue; his daughter, Luicrettia “Sissy”; his granddaughter, Nicole; and his siblings, Bob, Mary, Ruth, Frances, John, Roy, and Dorothy.

A memorial service will be held at the Braceville Township Hall on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
