James Johnson Obituary

James Lee Johnson, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 31st, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Warren, Ohio on March 7th, 1947 to the late Raymond L. and Blanche Glowacki Johnson.

Jim married Dottie Harper, 50 years ago, on March 30th, 1974. They enjoyed their lives together on "Blessed Acres."

Jim served as a Chief Warrant Officer in the 1st US Army as a Rotary Wing Pilot, in the Vietnam War. He received many metals, including 3 purple hearts.

To know Jimmy was to love Jimmy. He loved sharing his faith, and having parties with Evan, family and friends.

He was very talented and loved working with wood. He appreciated God's handi-work in the grain of wood.

The most precious thing in his life was spending time with his daughters, grandson and brother.

Jim is survived by his wife, Dottie Johnson; daughters, Emily (Jason) Davidson of Cortland, and Amy (Matt) Guy of Warren; grandson, Evan Johnson of Cortland and brother, Bob Johnson of El Paso. Jim will be missed by many family members and friends.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

To honor his memory, the family suggests donations to "Stripes to Bars." (www.stripestobars.com, "Helping Veterans get a start in aviation.")

Grief comes from great love, love has deep roots, deep roots grow stories, stories leave wonderful memories.
