Irene Quimby Obituary

Irene K. Quimby, 80, of Lordstown, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020 at her residence. She was born on January 17, 1940 in Warren, the daughter of William R. and Mary V. Duvall Eckenrode.

Irene was a 1959 graduate of Newton Falls High School. On May 16, 1962 she was united in marriage with Joseph R. Quimby, Sr.

Irene used to be very active with the Newton Falls Sportsman’s Club. Irene was of Catholic faith. She enjoyed being a homemaker, watching old movies and above all else she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Cherished memories of Irene will be carried on by her son Joseph R. and Erma Quimby, Jr. of Lordstown, brother Raymond and Peggy Eckenrode of North Carolina, grandchildren Michael Snowden, Joseph and Lana Quimby, and Megan Quimby, and great grandchild JD.

Preceding Irene in death were her husband, sons Michael, Jason, and Mark, and brothers Leonard and John Eckenrode.

A small family service will be held at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home. Irene will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Lordstown Township Cemetery.
