Gerald “Jerry” Henry White, age 83, of Diamond, Ohio, was called home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2025. He was born on July 25, 1941, in Wymer in Randolph County, West Virginia, where he was raised. Jerry lived a life marked by quiet strength, steady devotion, and deep love for his family.

After high school, Jerry proudly joined the United States Navy, serving as a corpsman alongside both Navy and Marine units. His time in the service took him to new places, and he cherished the opportunity to travel and serve his country.

In the 1970s, Jerry moved to Ohio, where he built a long career as a millwright and welder-fitter, working tirelessly for more than fifty years. Known for his strong work ethic and practical skills, he was never afraid to get his hands dirty and taught his family the value of hard work by example.

On April 13, 1984, Jerry married the love of his life, Diane, and together they built a life centered on love and family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud “Papa,” grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; his brother, Michael “Mike” (Brenda) White of Elkins, West Virginia; and by his children, Rachelle “Shelly” (Tim) Wilfong of Burnsville, West Virginia, Tina White of North Canton, Ohio, Beatrice “Dawn” DeLung of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, Gerald “Hank” (Lana) White Jr. of North Canton, Ohio, Richard “Hud” (Trisha) White of Fowler, Ohio, Christina Lee of Bristolville, Ohio, Matthew (Carrie) White of Champion, Ohio, Amber (Adam) Holley of Diamond, Ohio, and Michael (Megan) White of Hubbard, Ohio. His legacy also lives on through his 27 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Beatrice Opal White; his brothers, Gene, Steve, and Dick; his sister, Patty; and two grandchildren.

Jerry had a true servant’s heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer support without asking for anything in return. Though a man of few words, his presence was powerful, and his words carried weight. He had a sharp wit, a dry sense of humor, and just enough sarcasm to make you smile when you least expected it.

A skilled pool player, Jerry was well-known for his talent at the table, reliably winning games when it counted. He had a deep love for music, especially bluegrass, and found great joy playing guitar, particularly during cherished moments with his cousin, Bobby and son, Hank. Whether playing music, working with his hands, or simply sitting in the sunshine, Jerry was most at peace outdoors and surrounded by the simple things he loved.

His faith was a quiet but enduring part of his life, and it guided how he loved, lived, and gave of himself to others. He was a rock for his family, strong, steady, and unwavering, and his legacy of love, integrity, and hard work will be carried on by those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Mike, Susie, and Stevie White for their contribution to ensuring Jerry’s wishes of being laid to rest close to his loved ones was honored.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at FWD Church, located at 20 West Quarry Street, Newton Falls, Ohio. A service will follow directly after at 6:00 p.m., with dinner to follow at The Sunspot, located at 737 Ridge Road, Newton Falls, Ohio.
