Garry Andrew Padula, 72, of Newton Falls, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, surrounded by his family.  He fought a hard and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on February 23, 1953 in Warren, Ohio to Michael and Margaret Padula and grew up in Leavittsburg, Ohio, graduating from Labrae High School in 1971.

Garry began working at Denman Tire Corporation in 1973, where he was known as “The General” and worked there until the plant closure in 2010.  He retired from Walmart in 2018.

He married Linda Kohlmorgan on April 8, 1978 and they resided in Newton Falls, raising their two children, Cassandra and Anthony.

He was known for being both quiet and simply, but also very funny and caring.

“Papa” loved to babysit and spend time with his grandchildren.  One of his favorite past times was going swimming with them, which he also enjoyed doing with his family.

Garry loved all Cleveland sports, especially the Guardians and Browns, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.  He enjoyed country music and good Italian food.  When he wasn’t on a random daytime adventure with his wife, he could be found out in his backyard “putzing around” and hanging out with and helping all of his neighbors.

In quieter times, he enjoyed watching game shows, especially Jeopardy, watching sci-fi TV shows, and doing crossword puzzles.  He loved many dogs and cats over the years as well, including the pets of friends, family and neighbors.

Garry is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Cassandra Padula (Todd Crispin) of Newton Falls, Ohio; his son, Anthony (Sabrina) Padula of Austintown, Ohio; his grandchildren, Paige, Lucas, Kaelyn, and Hailey; his brother, Michael Anthony “Chick” Padula, Jr. of Findlay, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert D. Padula.

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial/celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
