Frances Ellen (McNamara) Singleton

Frances Ellen McNamara Singleton, 79, of Diamond, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2024. She was born on August 25, 1944, in Wilton, Connecticut.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Lee; her father, Charles Lee; her sister, Mary Quinn; and her brother, Jackie McNamara.

She leaves behind the love of her life, her husband of 46 years, Van Singleton. She also leaves four daughters, Rose Snyder of West Virginia; Jackie Lutes (Mark) of North Jackson; Diana Coggins (Scott) of Wellsville and Mary Pew (Larry) of Youngstown; and a son, Daryl Singleton (Sherry) of Deerfield.

She was the best nanny in the world to 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She loved babysitting her grandchildren and participated in every aspect of the lives of her family.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Frances loved to read and do puzzles. She was famous for her love of dolphins, flamingos, the beach and sparkly things. She loved everybody she met and always thought the best of everyone. She gave out hugs liberally. You could never enter or exit her house without a hug and a kiss on the cheek. She was the “Queen of Hugs”.

She was known as “Nanny” to most and loved by all. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Calling hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on March 7, 2024 at Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
