Evin Joseph Eakins Obituary
Evin Joseph Eakins, 93, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his home in Bazetta Township.
He was born July 27, 1930, in Clarksville, Pa., the son of William Edward Sr. and Georgina Whittacer Eakins.
On Valentine’s Day 1949, Evin married the love of his life, Judy Johns. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage together prior to her passing and now get to reunite in heaven.
He worked as a supervisor at Rockwell International for 40 years, but his true passion was in the way he helped others. You could often find him mowing the neighbors’ lawns and tending to busy work. He was a passionate Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Browns fan, and in his prime, he was an exceptional baseball player.
Loving memories of Evin will be carried on by his loving sons, Evin Jr. (Marissa) of Lake Station, Indiana, Scott (Wanda) of Royal Center, Indiana; and daughter, Nancy (Scott) of Bazetta, with whom he lived. He is also survived by his son-in-law, John Pagano; along with eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Diana; along with five sisters and four brothers.
Calling hours will be held 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, where a service will follow at noon, with Pastor Cole Sagstetter of Northeast Christian Church of Bazetta officiating.
Burial will be in Braceville Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions may be made in memory of Evin to Northeast Christian Church, 865 Perkins Jones Road, Warren, OH 44483.
