Evelyn A. Gunter, 85, of Lake Milton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 17, 2022. Born May 23, 1937, in Warren, Ohio, Evelyn was the daughter of Walter B. and Nellie E. Gunter.
A member of Warren G. Harding High School class of 1955, she was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Women’s Army Corps during the Korean conflict.
She was employed as a Durmerage Clerk for the B & O Railroad and retired from Packard Electric GM in Warren, Ohio. Evelyn was owner and operator of Milton Leather and Sweats in Lake Milton and served as a home healthcare provider, retiring in 2007.
Evelyn enjoyed caring for the elderly and afflicted, loved poetry, landscaping, fishing and was a former member of the Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Virginia Gunter Heakin; her brother, Paul; her stepmother, Evelyn Dubach; and her stepfather, John S. Vair.
Survivors include her sister, Shirley Eckhardt of Mesa, Arizonia; her three brothers, Walter, Dennis and Todd Gunter of Ashtabula; several cousins, nieces and nephews and her loyal and loving pets.
At Evelyn’s request, there will be no calling hours or services.
Evelyn will be interred in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna, Ohio.
