Eleanor Delores Benich Obituary
Eleanor Delores "Ellie" Benich, was peacefully welcomed into eternity on May 26, 2025, in Warren, Ohio, at the age of 93.With hearts full of love and eyes lifted toward eternity, we celebrate the beautiful life of Ellie, who peacefully stepped into the light of forever and was graciously received into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born on April 10, 1932, in Lake Milton, Ohio, Ellie was the embodiment of devotion—to her family, her work, and above all, her faith. She was one of 17 children, a testament to the large and loving family that shaped her life. On October 1, 1955, at St. Mary Church in Newton Falls, she joined hands in marriage with Thomas Benich, her beloved husband, now joyfully reunited with her in eternity. Their love story was one of deep devotion and shared strength.
A proud graduate of Jackson Milton High School, Ellie poured her dedication into her work, retiring as the Commander's Assistant at the Vienna Air Base. Her professionalism, loyalty, and integrity left a lasting mark on colleagues and friends alike. Ellie attended North-Mar Church in Warren.
But Ellie’s truest joy was found at home, surrounded by the people she loved. Her famous strudel, nut roll, and stuffed cabbage were more than recipes—they were irresistible traditions that fed the soul and occasionally stretched a waistband. She cheered with gusto for her beloved Cleveland Cavaliers and Guardians, and her laughter and warmth lit up every room she entered.
Ellie’s steadfast faith never wavered, and in her final chapter, that faith bloomed anew—a quiet, radiant trust in the promise of eternal life. Her family takes comfort in knowing that Ellie’s journey did not end but simply changed course—into a realm where peace is unbroken, and love is everlasting.
She leaves behind a legacy rich with love and memory: her son, James (Michelle) Benich; her daughter, Denise (Tim) Putt; and her treasured grandchildren, Michael (Leann) Benich, Sarah (David) Pepley, Carissa (Chris) McCall, Melissa (Matt Raters) McNabb, and Wayne Perry; and her great-grandchildren, Petra Pepley, McKenzie McCall, Michael & Thomas McNabb, and Lorelei Perry. They will carry forward her legacy of kindness, faith, and love.
Though we miss her dearly, we find comfort in the hope that she lives on—in our memories, in the legacy she leaves behind, and in the eternal kingdom in which she so deeply believed.
Ellie has not simply left us; she has gone ahead.
