Edward L. Peabody, age 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Hospice of the Valley- Hospice House in Youngstown surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 24, 1945 in Warren, to Clifford and Dorothy (Barbe) Peabody.
He was a 1964 graduate of Bristolville High School. He proudly served in the Navy during Vietnam on the USS Independence.
He married Constance Beckner on June 14, 1969, in Braceville. They shared a beautiful life together, raising their family in Champion, Ohio.
He worked as a millwright at Packard Electric for over 30 years, forming lifelong friendships with many of his coworkers.
Edward was known for his friendly personality and infectious smile. He lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures like dinner with family, coffee with friends, and playing cards with anyone. He loved the outdoors. He spent many hours on his boat on local lakes and especially enjoyed perch and walleye seasons on Lake Erie. His favorite memories were camping in the mid-west and along the east coast. He loved floating down a river, sitting by a campfire, and watching ocean waves. He affectionately spent many winter months in Florida.
Memories of Edward and his legacy of joy will be carried on by his daughter, Julie (Jeff) Geiss of East Palestine; his four grandchildren, Marissa, Samuel, Rebecca, and Jonathan Geiss; his son, Edward M. Peabody of Texas; his brother-in-law, Larry Beckner of Howland and his sisters-in-law, Susan (Bud) Precht of Frostburg, MD and Lori (Kevin) Harford of Leavittsburg; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Constance; his parents, Clifford and Dorothy Peabody; his sister, Carol Tatum; and his in-laws, Edward O. and Dolores Beckner; and his brother-in-law, Edward Beckner.
A small ceremony will be held for immediate family members. Interment will be in the Braceville Township Cemetery.
