Dorothy M. Shearer, 72, of Girard passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her residence.
She was born on September 20, 1949 in Cambridge, PA, daughter of David and Thelma (Patterson) Long.
After receiving her formal education she was employed in quality control at Barry Plastics for 30 years from which she retired.
In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, family picnics and campgrounds.
She married Gerald Shearer in July 1967 at Windham, OH. After 49 years of marriage Gerald preceded Dorothy in death on February 19, 2017.
Cherished memories of Dorothy will be carried on by sons Gerald (Bonnie) Shearer of Niles, OH, Robert (Fawn) Shearer of Newton Falls, and Gary (Tracy) Shearer of Girard, OH, daughter Renee (Rex) Thompson of Garrettsville, OH, four brothers Alfred (Penny) Long of Warren, OH, Larry Long of Howland, OH, Ernie (Elisa) Long of Champion, OH, Tommy (Joyce) Long of Strafford, PA, Sisters Helen Malone of Champion, OH, Elsie (Terry) Flanigan of Niles, OH, and Betty (Louis) Groves, Carol (Tom) Pawcio, Ethel Williams, and Diane Long all of Warren, grandchildren Rex (Amanda), Nicole (Rich) Roby, Brandon (Grace), Trevor (Tara), Sarah, Gary (Felicia), Betsy (Chuckie), Samantha (Bradley), Cerra, PJ (Cheynne), Bradley, Chole, Russell, Kallie (Chris), George, Eric, Angel, David, Brandon, Michael, and Matt, 39 great grandchildren and her dogs Shadow and Russ who she loved and cherished.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, husband, son Anthony, grandson Travis, brothers Leo and Hubba, sister in law Sue who was her best friend and a daughter in law Terri.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, February 16 from 5 – 7 PM at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home, with services following 7 PM.
