Donald E. Sindledecker, 87, of Newton Falls, Ohio passed Friday, April 14, 2023 in Mercy Health St. Joseph Warren Hospital. Don was born on June 12, 1935 in Newton Falls, Ohio, the son of Clifton and Hazel Shade Sindledecker.
A lifetime area resident, Don graduated from Braceville High School. Donald was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Hawaii when it was recognized as a state on August 21, 1959. He would obtain his honorable discharge from the service on June 30, 1964.
On May 12, 1962, Donald and Barbara Palmer were united in marriage in the Youngstown Presbyterian Church in Youngstown, Ohio. Their family grew and they were blessed with four children, Douglas, Dwayne, Brenda and Jason.
Don had been employed by Packard Electric for forty-four years and also owned and operated Decker Electric. He was a good provider and showed us all by example what it meant to have a strong work ethic.
Over the years, the couple enjoyed going to Atlantic City and then more recently the local casinos. Don was a classic car collector and enthusiast and enjoyed talking with people about them. He loved dogs and owned many over his lifetime. He was a HUGE fan and avid watcher of professional wrestling.
Loving memories of Don will be carried on by his devoted family, his wife, Barbara; his children, Douglas and Marsha Sindledecker, Dwayne and Kathy Sindledecker and their children, Dr. Eric Sindledecker and Erin Sindledecker, Brenda and David Ferraro and their children, Olivia Ferraro and James Ferraro, and Jason Sindledecker.
Don was preceded by his brother, Robert Sindledecker.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, Ohio. The service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Shirley Frantz officiating.
The United State Army and the Newton Falls Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors for Donald at the Braceville Township Cemetery where Donald will be laid to rest.
