David Wayne LaPorte

David Wayne LaPorte, 49, of Atwater, Ohio, passed away of natural causes on September 29, 2023. He was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on February 16, 1974, the son of Joseph and Kathy Martin LaPorte. He was a 1993 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio.

Until his passing, David had been employed in maintenance by Friendship Acres Campground, where he also resided.

David is survived by his wife and best friend, Dawn (Napolitano) Hurst-LaPorte, whom he married on June 22, 2014. With this marriage, the family was joined together with his daughters, Natalie LaPorte, Maddison LaPorte Lilly, Alexis LaPorte and his son, Riley LaPorte and Dawn’s children, Toni Napolitano, Samantha Hurst and Aaron Hurst. Their blended family also gave them eleven grandchildren. David loved and was proud of his large family.

He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Kathy and Doug Oyster; and his two brothers, Joseph (Heidi) LaPorte of Diamond, Ohio and Robert (Shinhi) Moore of Tacoma, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph.

As per his wishes, there will be no service. His wife is inviting friends and family to join her on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Friendship Acres Restaurant indoor patio, 2210 State Route 44, Atwater, Ohio 44201, for food, refreshments and shared happy memories.
