Darlene Joyce Cooper Obituary

Darlene Cooper, 77, formerly of North Royalton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the home of her daughter in Newton Falls, Ohio after a hard fought battle with cancer.


She was born on August 27, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of Ronald Watt and Bernice Watt, nee Mayer.


Darlene leaves behind two daughters, Tracy (Robert) Robinson of Newton Falls and Kim (Phil) Misencik of Seven Hills; as well as her beloved dog, Ally.  She had five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and two great friends in Heidi Mitter and Diana McDaniel.


She is preceded in death by her spouse, Adrian Maenza; her parents; her brothers, James Watt and Ronald Watt; and one sister, Margaret Griffin.


Darlene enjoyed cooking and baking, especially Christmas cookies during the holidays, zucchini bread during the summer months and sharing with family, friends and neighbors.  She loved to have weekly family gatherings and cookouts at her home in North Royalton.  She also loved to play bingo, visit the casinos, play dice games and cards at home with family, collecting antiques, and she owned race horses at one time that she would race at Northfield Park.


Darlene lived her life to the fullest and when she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in June 2021, her determination, strength and courage was witnessed by all.


She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio, along with her spouse, Adrian.
