Bonnie Garard Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Garard, affectionately known as “Bee Gee” to her grandchildren. Bonnie was a beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and friend, who peacefully left us in the early hours of June 28th after a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Bonnie was born on March 28, 1947, in Warren, Ohio to Marshall and Marie Croell, nee Donham. She grew up in Newton Falls, Ohio and graduated from Newton Falls High School in 1965. She then attended the Trumbull Memorial Hospital school of Nursing in Warren, Ohio, where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1968. After a 47-year career at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, serving as a RN and Physical Therapist’s Assistant for Cardiac rehabilitation, she retired in 2016. After retirement, she volunteered with Mobile Meals in Warren, and doted on her grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Bonnie was known for her collection of pig knick-knacks, love of travel, good food, bad wine, her kindness, gentle spirit, patience, and passion for nursing. She touched the lives of many through her work and was an inspiration to her family and friends.

Bonnie is survived by her sons, Randy (Erin Force, nee Curtin) and David Force (Jennifer Force, nee Kauffman); and her grandchildren, Joey and Ryan Force.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Ivan Croell and her best friend and sister, Lucy Moran, nee Croell.

A celebration of life honoring Bonnie will be held on August 3, 2024 at the Borowski Memorial Home. Visitation for friends and family will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her cherished memory will live on.
