Barbara J. Jenkins, 74, of Newton Falls, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on November, 23, 2021 at UH Cleveland surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 27, 1947 in Seattle, WA to the late Alfred and Alta (Gibbons) Addison, she graduated from Jackson Milton High School in 1965. Barbara was wed to Larry Jenkins on November 11, 1967 and enjoyed 28 years of marriage prior to his passing in September of 1995. Barbara worked a variety of jobs, retiring as a Financial Counselor from UH Portage. After living in several locations in Ohio and Florida, Barbara was a resident of Newton Falls for the past 25 years. She was a member of the Edinburg United Church of Christ. A lover of books, Barbara could be found reading anywhere, whether that be in the comfort of her home or on long car rides. She loved to laugh, travel, crotchet, garden and play cards with her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Michelle (Charles Holliday) Ball of Newton Falls, son Larry (Melissa) Jenkins Jr. of Kent and grandchildren Taylor Ball, Alex Ball, Sarah Jenkins, Zachary Jenkins, Luke Jenkins and Ethan Jenkins. She also leaves her brother William (Debbie) Addison of Warren, sisters Ginger (Robert) Canankamp of Lake Milton, Nita (Richard) Carson of Florida and Paula (John) Lobaugh of Youngstown, sister-in-law Patricia (Butch) Nolan, brother-in-law Dave Marling and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Barbara in death were her husband Larry, brother Paul Estlack, sister Gayle Spencer, sister-in-law Kathy Marling, and brothers-in-law William and James Jenkins.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 28 from 1 – 3 PM and Tuesday, November 30 from 9 – 11 AM at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 30 at 11 AM with the Rev. Timothy Paroz officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest next to her husband at Braceville Township Cemetery.
