Alicia Ann Barnes Obituary

Alicia Ann Barnes was called home to God on July 4, 2022, at the age of 37. She was the oldest daughter born to Jody and Tamara Barnes.

Born and raised in Newton Falls, Ohio, she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado at the end of her sophomore year of high school. She was a 2003 graduate of Sierra High School in Colorado Springs.

Alicia fell in love with Colorado Springs and met Kyle Marshall with whom she began building her life with. She held several jobs, but her favorites were the ones as a driver.  Briefly drove school buses in Texas and city buses and taxis in Colorado Springs. Alicia loved to drive and meet new people.

Alicia’s favorite hobbies were to color in pattern books and to do crafts. Alicia comes from a creative and artistic family and it was in her genes to make things like signs, t-shirts, wreaths, pictures, etc. Growing up, Alicia enjoyed camping with her family. Some of her fondest memories of her childhood took place at Green Acres Campground. She also enjoyed watching Sons of Anarchy with Kyle and she loved her animals fiercely. Alicia is a good example of what you can do when you put your mind to it and work hard. Her message to others is to keep fighting and to not give up.

Alicia leaves behind her father, Jody (Marian) Barnes of Kentucky; the love of her life, Kyle Marshall of Colorado; her three sisters, Jackie Tackett of Kentucky, Erica (Octavian) Barnes-Perez Owens, Cheyanne (Jeremy) Dolin; best friend/sister of 34 years, Amanda Sprankle-Willoughby, all of Ohio.

Alicia is also remembered by her two grandmothers, Patty Workman and Judith Witten; her nine nephews and two nieces, Caleb and Christian Barnes, Caden Tackett, Pharroah, Maghique, Nova, and Galaxy Perez-Owens, Nicholas and Hunter Willoughby, David Melendy, Connor Angus; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Angels who welcomed Alicia into her heavenly home were: her mother, Tamara Barnes; unofficial mom, Phyllis Sprankle; her aunt, Jackie Barnes and several grandparents and friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend the services, which will be held at Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, Ohio on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Funeral service will follow immediately after and burial will be at Harrington Cemetery in Nelson Township.
