Mary Ann entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 30 to be reunited with her husband Andrew, who preceded her in death in 2005. They had been married for 65 years.
Born July 13, 1928, Mary Ann is the daughter of Karol and Mary Smolenski. She leaves behind a sister, Catherine Fichter of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mary Ann enjoyed the love and company of her 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, many nieces and nephews, and 2 angel dogs Rusty and Mocha who were always by her side.
She was an avid sports fan watching the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Ohio State and Notre Dame.
Mary Ann was an honorary member of the St. Mary and St. Joseph’s Ladies Guild and a Silver Sneaker.
Cherished memories of Mary Ann will be carried on by her loving children, Mary Catherine (Tom) Martin of McDonald, Patricia (Mike) Matas of Newton Falls, Mary Ann (Jeff) Myers of Newton Falls, David (Debbie) Yenchocic of Champion, and Melanie Waller of Newton Falls with whom she made her home.
Preceding her in death were her husband Andrew, an infant daughter Rosemarie, brothers Walter and Joseph, son-in-law Chuck Waller and grandson, Ryan Matas.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 5 Sunday February 3, 2019 at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, Ohio.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday February 4 at 12:30 at St. Mary and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Newton Falls.
Mary Ann will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paris Township.
Material tributes may be made in the name of Mary Ann to the Ladies Guild of St. Mary and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
