Marjorie Ann Aemmer 92, of Palmyra Township, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 25, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Marjorie was born January 6, 1927, in Milford, Illinois to the late Frank and Lottie Handy.
Marjorie met the love of her life, Warren Aemmer, on a blind date January 8th 1944, at 5:30 p.m. at a chocolate shop. They were married on June 22, 1947 and were together nearly 68 years until his passing on June 4, 2015.
She will be greatly missed by her four sons Charles (Leslie) Aemmer, Robert (Patti) Aemmer, Peter (Dane) Aemmer, David (Karen) Aemmer all of Palmyra Ohio; and 13 very special grandchildren, and 31 adored great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with 3 great-great grandchildren.
Marjorie was a member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church and the Deerfield Leisure Lads and Lassies. She was an active member of Eastern Stars Palmy Chapter #114 of Deerfield. Marjorie was a recipient of the Rob Morris Award. She worked for the Diamond post office as a rural mail carrier as well as working the family farm.
She will be remembered by many for her years as a Sunday school teacher where her students earned their Bibles, tea parties with grandchildren, caramel corn for the adults on Halloween, sticky buns and her love of sweets.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Charity Masonic Lodge #530 at 2380 State Route 225, Deerfield, Ohio
Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Palmyra United Methodist Church, 3968 State Route 225, Diamond, Ohio, 44412. Rev. Insook Do will be officiating.
Inurnment will be at the Palmyra West Cemetery.
