Louis Perekovich Jr., 84, of Newton Falls, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at his residence. He was born the son of Louis and Mary (Shokac) Perekovich, Sr. on July 29, 1934 in Newton Falls.
Lou was a 1953 graduate of Newton Falls High School and went on to serve the US Army in Germany.
He was employed by the Newton Falls Water Department, retiring after many years.
Lou was a parishioner of St. Mary and St. Joseph Church.
Lou was a member of AMVETS Post 112.
He enjoyed golfing in his spare time.
In 1980 Lou was united in marriage with Helen Speno at St. Joseph Church in Newton Falls. She preceded Lou in death on June 2, 1998.
Cherished memories of Lou will be carried on by his daughter Jodi (Jeff) Coppenger of Hamilton, brothers Joe and Rudy Perkovich both of Warren, sister Janet Wildman of Texas, and grandchildren Heath and Hayleigh Coppenger.
Preceding Lou in death were siblings John, Tom, Ann, and Kathryn Perkovich and Marjorie Rogers.
Graveside services for Lou will be held on April 19 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Conoboy officiating. Lou will be honored for his service to our country by the US Army and the Newton Falls Veteran’s Organization.
Lou will be laid to rest next to his wife Helen. A celebration of Lou's life will be continued after his burial at AMVETS Post 112.
