Leslie Frank Persin, 69, of Newton Falls passed on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on October 25, 1947 in Warren, Ohio the son of Frank and Dorothy Jones Persin.  He was a 1965 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School. 

On December 13, 1965, Leslie entered the United States Air Force with overseas duty in Vietnam.  Earning the rank of Sergeant, Leslie was honorably discharge on May 11, 1969.  He would then obtained employment at the General Motors Fab Plant and remained employed there for thirty four years until his retirement.

Following a two year courtship, Leslie and Margaret “Peggy” McCurdy were united in marriage on February 18, 1984 in the Newton Falls United Methodist Church.

Leslie enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, golfing and fishing.  However, his favorite pastime was watching all the Cleveland sports teams at home or the memorable outings with the family to Cleveland to attend the games. New Smyrna Beach, Florida was a favorite travel destination.  Although working midnight turn, he was also able to attend the sporting events of his son, Tim. 

Leslie was a man who was passionate in his endeavors and he had a big heart.

Memories of Leslie will be carried on by his loving wife, Peggy; his children, Tim (Kelly) Persin, Sherry (Tony) Torres and Brian (Cindy) Persin; his grandchildren; great grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy and his sister, Susie Shearer.

Preceding Leslie was his father, Frank Persin.
