Edward William Locke, 53, of Beloit passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, October 2, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Ed was born on March 13, 1964 in Grove City, Pennsylvania, the son of Darryl and Dixie Locke.

In 1966, Ed moved with his family to Vienna, Ohio where he spent thirteen years of his life.  During this time he was very active in the Boy Scouts of America.  In 1980, he earned his Eagle Scout Award.

The family moved to the Newton Falls/Lake Milton Area in 1979.  Ed attended Jackson-Milton High School, graduating in 1982.

Ed worked as a mechanic at Falls Ford in Newton Falls and also managed the Pit Stop oil change service center in Newton Falls.  Most recently, he worked for the Honda Store in Boardman as their detail manager.

Ed’s passion was always cars.  During his teenage years, he enjoyed restoring old cars and going to car shows.  It was a hobby he enjoyed with his dad.  Ed also enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his bike and spending time with his beloved dogs.

On August 18, 2007, Ed married his wife, Carla.  They have enjoyed many special times during their ten years together.  Also, through this marriage, he became a wonderful stepdad to Karissa and Amanda.

Ed’s friends and family will always remember him as a kind-hearted, generous man who enjoyed telling stories.  Ed was truly the all-around amazing good guy that everyone enjoyed being around.

Wonderful memories of Ed will be carried on by his loving family, his caring wife, Carla, who took good care of Ed during his illness; his father and mother, Darryl and Dixie Locke of Newton Falls, his sister and brother-in-law, Lorrie and Greg Ellis of Newton Falls; his nephew and his wife, Kurt and Abby Ellis; his niece, Rachel Ellis and his two step-daughters, Karrisa and Amanda Leatherbarrow.

A memorial service will be held at Pricetown United Methodist Church on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
