Douglas Dillon Obituary

Douglas E. Dillon, 65, of Newton Falls, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at his residence under the comforting care of hospice and with his family by his side.  He was born on December 12, 1953 in Warren, the son of Edward and Mildred (Woods) Dillon.

He proudly served our country in the US Navy in Vietnam.  Doug was a member of Newton Falls Veterans Post 3332 and was also past Commander and member of the Color Guard.

Doug was employed as a line worker for Taylor Steel.

He was of Catholic faith.

On July 24, 2012 Doug was united in marriage with Diana Balk in Newton Falls.

Cherished memories of Doug will be carried by his wife Diana, daughters Melanie (David) Boros of Richfield, and Melissa (Matthew) O’Connor of Newton Falls, brother Edward Dillon of Newton Falls, sisters Linda (Larry) Salvato of Warren, Joyce (Tim) Morphew of Goshen, KY, Laura (Neil) Dillon of Hubbard, Cindy (Ron) Hart of Newton Falls, grandchildren Preston, Matthew, Connor and Maggie, and his 4 legged child Marley.

Preceding Doug in death were his parents.

Family and friends may call from 1 – 3 PM on Wednesday, December 4 at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home with services at 3 PM with Rev. David Merzweiler officiating.  Following the services Doug will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the US Navy and the Newton Falls Veteran Association.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Never Muzzled, PO BOX 293, Newton Falls, Ohio 44444.
