Delmar J. Howes, 84, passed peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Warren, Ohio. He was born on April 17, 1935 in French Creek, West Virginia, the son of Clyde and Stella Tenney Howes. He had been a resident of the Newton Falls area for over fifty five years.
On December 27, 1955, Delmar married his high school sweetheart, Marbie Jean Helmick.
Delmar served honorably in the United States Air Force from June 6, 1955 to June 5, 1959.
He had been employed by RMI of Niles, retiring after thirty five years of service.
Delmar enjoyed working on and maintaining his home and cars and he could fix or build anything.
Besides his wife of sixty three years, he leaves behind his brother, Dayton (Kathy) of Buckhannon, West Virginia, his sister, Loretta (Tom) Gillum of French Creek, West Virginia, his son, Chet (Jenny) of West Farmington, Ohio, his daughters, Sabrena Sally of Columbus, Ohio and Shawn (Tom) Hardy of Salem, Oregon. He was also blessed with five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
His two sisters, Cara Mae Bosley and Doris Whiting and his brother, Clyde Howes preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, Ohio. At 11:00 a.m., military honors will be held, with a service to follow with Rev. Wesley Cluckey officiating.
A luncheon will be held following the service at the Mineral Ridge Church of God, 1026 Salt Springs Road, Mineral Ridge, Ohio 44440.
Delmar will travel the country roads of West Virginia to his place of rest with a graveside service in the Waterloo Cemetery in French Creek, West Virginia.
