Darrin Craig Madison, 51, of Newton Falls, passed away following a long illness, at 7:20am on Wednesday Sept 6th, 2017, at Mercy Health, St Joseph Hospital in Warren.

He was born in Salem, Ohio on February 14, 1966, to Howard Kay and Ethel “Bonnie” (Stone) Madison. He married his life long love Maryanne (Matysiak) Madison on August 14th, 1999.

Darrin was a 1984 graduate of West Branch High School, Beloit. He had worked as a driver for Soft-Lite Windows. Darrin was an avid water skier and loved time spent boating with family and friends. Darrin always gave a thrill ride while driving the boat to skiers in tow. He also enjoyed camping with the family and volunteering with his children’s scouting activities. He loved playing guitar. He played with his band Flammable Liquid and was the former bass player for The Jeff Welsh Band. He enjoyed writing his own lyrics to songs to tell his feelings through music. He hauled the band trailer for the NF Marching Tiger Band in which his children are active members. He also enjoyed cheering on his children at their softball and soccer games.  He was a beloved father, devoted husband and loving son.  Darrin was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Salem. Darrin was always making jokes and even if you didn’t find them funny his laugh made them funny.

Darrin donated the gift of sight by being a cornea donor through Lifebanc of Ohio so others could regain the gift of sight after his passing. He strongly believed in organ donation and urged everyone to pass on the gift of life.

Darrin is survived by his wife Maryanne (Matysiak) Madison, children, Jossette, Craig, and Anthony and dog BAM. His mother Ethel (Stone) Madison, brothers David, of Key Largo, Fl, Douglas  (Darlene) of Lake Milton, sisters  Debbie (John) Landau of Key Largo, FL and Doreen Madison Benning of Salem and sister-in-law, Roseanne Hershberger of Greenville, PA. Also, several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Howard Kay Madison and nephew Christopher Hershberger of Greenville, PA.

Visitation will be at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls on Sunday Sept 10th from 3 to 6 pm. Burial mass will be Monday September 11th at 10:30am at SS Mary and Joseph Catholic Church.  In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help defer medical/funeral expenses or to The Newton Falls Band.
