Patricia A. Palenchar, 90, of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest Thursday August 24, 2017 at the Shepard of the Valley.    Pat was born on June 24, 1927 in Warren, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Kimock) Kocis.

Pat graduated from Newton Falls High School.  On October 16, 1948 she married John Palenchar at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was a faithful parishioner and member of the Ladies Guild.

Pat belonged to many bowling leagues over the years. 

She became a “second mom” to her many nieces and nephews.

Above all else Pat enjoyed being with family and friends and having good conversations.

Loving memories of Pat will be carried on by her nieces and nephews Jim& Linda Bobbey, Chris & Jerry Lippe, Maureen & Kevin Martin, Pete & Liz Kocis, Amy & Peter Carroll, and Mary & Alan Goodrich along with their children, many of whom she babysat for, great nieces and great nephews Matt & Carla Bobbey, Adam & Jessica Bobbey, Heather & Troy Balint, Caitlin Martin, Megan & Chris Guenther, Ryan Lippe, Patrick Carroll, Colleen Carroll, Christopher Carroll, sister-in-law Louise Kocis, special friends and neighbors Ed & Nellie McLaughlin, and Marie Ord a friend and caregiver.

Preceding Pat in death was her husband John who passed away November 14, 2012, a sister Marion Bobbey, a brother John Kocis Jr. and a brother-in-law Paul Bobbey.

Friends and family may call from 8:45 – 9:45 AM on Wednesday August 30 at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM at St. Mary and St. Joseph’s Church.  Pat will be laid to rest next to her husband John at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Pat’s favorite saying was “It’s more important to be nice than it is nice to be important.”.
