Michael S. Uhlin, 64, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully on Monday May 20, 2017 at his residence.  Mike was born in Warren on August 28, 1952 the son of Joseph and Gloria (Ballas) Uhlin.  His mother preceded him in death August 19, 1991 and his father preceded him in death March 5, 1992.

Mike was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Newton Falls.  He graduated from Newton Falls High School in 1970.

Mike served in the US Army from 1972 to 1974.  He was stationed at Romalus, New York at the Seneca Army Depot as a Military Policeman.

He retired from General Motors Corporation.

For the past 17 years Mike has dedicated his life to helping others through the twelve step recovery program.  He enjoyed travelling to AA conventions.  In his spare time Mike also enjoyed fishing. 

Memories will be carried on by his son Joseph of North Myrtle Beach, SC, his precious sister Kim Uhlin of Newton Falls, beloved aunts and uncle Evelyn & Gabriel Ballas, and Joanne Ballas, and a slew of cherished friends.

Family and friends may call on Sunday June 4 from 1 – 4 PM at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls and on Monday June 5 from 11 – noon with a Divine Funeral Liturgy at noon at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church with Father Simeone B. Sibenik officiating.  Mike will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Newton Township.
